When away from the practice, Kara can be found immersed in a true crime podcast, devouring travel content, and attempting to instill her sense of adventure into her young daughter. Kara has a passion for travelling, spending time in the UK, exploring the top end of Australia, learning to snowboard in Canada’s Lake Louise and getting married in beautiful Thailand. Her adventure’s and working experiences have shaped her and fuelled her desire to combine her administration abilities and still allow her to be in contact with the public, something she has always loved.

In 2013, Kara joined Alana Healthcare as a Medical Receptionist and soon knew this was where she wanted to be. She dedicated time obtaining qualifications which would help to propel her career in Health Administration and Practice Management. A testament to her abilities, in 2015 Kara won the AAPM/Avant scholarship and was awarded the opportunity to enrol in the UNE Partnerships Certificate IV in Business for Health Practice Managers. With Alana’s support, Kara has further completed her Diploma of Professional Practice Leadership through UNE Partnerships in 2020.

Kara has a friendly demeanor and approachable nature. She was eager to jump in and assist with Alana’s relocation and enjoys acting as a mentor to our growing admin team and liaising with patients. As Kara continues to grow from strength to strength she is a key member of the Alana team and provides enormous support the other administrative and medical staff.
