How soon can I go back to work following hysterectomy?

Recovery following hysterectomy is variable and depends on the type of hysterectomy and the patient. The usual range would be 1-4 weeks for vaginal or laparoscopic hysterectomy and 4-8 weeks for abdominal hysterectomy.

You can resume intercourse once there is no further bleeding and the pain has settled. This will usually be between 2-4 weeks.
