Can I take medicines to shrink the fibroids?

There are no known medicines that will remove fibroids.

Some medications can temporarily reduce their size, however these medications are powerful and may have side effects.  Most are not registered to treat fibroids in Australia.

Some medications may help with the symptoms associated with fibroids such as pain or bleeding and may be used in the long term.
